Job summary

PridePRO is assisting in filling the role of Assistant Ocean Freight Manager for a global logistics leader based in Malaysia. The role oversees seafreight operations, manages relations with shipping lines and agents, and ensures regulatory compliance for cross-border shipments.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in seafreight or freight forwarding, strong cost and rate management skills, and excellent stakeholder communication to drive efficiency and profitability across international

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of seafreight operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs compliance.
• Experience in rate negotiations, cost management and profitability analysis.
• Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage seafreight import/export operations, ensuring timely cargo movement.
• Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents and forwarding partners to negotiate rates and bookings.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements and policies.
• Lead and train a team of seafreight coordinators to achieve high performance.
• Oversee seafreight costing, invoicing and profitability analysis.
• Monitor shipment status, resolve delays, and update clients and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation for all seafreight transactions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service and other departments to meet client goals.
