Job summary

Kingsmen Global Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a rate sheet analyst to prepare and update the monthly FAK rate sheet for SOC and COC containers. The role involves collecting, validating, and tracking freight rates from shipping lines, agents, and internal sources to ensure accurate quotes.

The successful candidate will maintain an organized rate sheet, flag anomalies, and liaise with carriers to confirm updated rates before deadlines, while supporting ad hoc cost requests and basic trend reporting.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics.
• Familiarity with sea freight terms — FAK, SOC, COC, GRI, PSS, and related docs.
• Strong Excel skills for formulas, formatting and data organization.
• High attention to detail because rate sheets affect quotes and margins.
• Good communication to liaise with carriers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update the monthly FAK rate sheet across SOC/COC container types.

• Flag significant rate movements to the reporting manager for review.

• Maintain records of carrier rate correspondence and rate validity docs.
• Publish finalized rate within agreed timelines and support ad hoc cost requests.
• Assist in rate trend analysis and ensure data aligns with contracts where applicable.

Job description

Prepare and update the monthly FAK rate sheet covering both SOC and COC container types, across all relevant trade lanes

Collect and verify freight rates from shipping lines/carriers, agents, and internal sources ahead of each monthly update

Track rate changes (GRI, PSS, surcharges, etc.) and ensure the rate sheet reflects the latest validity periods and terms

Maintain a clear, organized, and error-free rate sheet format for easy reference by the sales and operations teams

Flag significant rate movements or anomalies to the reporting manager before finalizing updates

Liaise with shipping lines and carrier representatives to request and confirm updated rates ahead of monthly deadlines

Follow up on outstanding rate quotations to ensure the rate sheet is completed on schedule

Maintain organized records of carrier rate correspondence and rate validity documentation for audit/reference purposes

3. Internal Support

Publish the finalized rate within agreed timelines

Support ad hoc rate comparisons or costing requests from the commercial / HOD as needed

4. Data Accuracy & Reporting

Maintain historical records of rate sheets for trend tracking and reference

Assist in basic rate trend analysis or reporting when requested by the Head of Pricing

Ensure all rate data is consistent with contracted rate agreements where applicable

Requirements

0–3 years of experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics (fresh graduates with strong Excel skills may be considered)

Familiarity with sea freight terms — FAK, SOC, COC, GRI, PSS, and general ocean freight documentation

Strong proficiency in Excel (comfortable with formulas, formatting, and data organization)

High attention to detail and accuracy, given the rate sheet directly affects quoting and margins

Good communication skills for liaising with carriers and internal teams

Ability to work to a fixed monthly deadline
