Job summary

Reeracoen (Malaysia) is seeking a Scrap Operations Supervisor to oversee day-to-day yard activities, assign manpower, and coordinate receiving, sorting, grading, processing, storage and dispatch. You will ensure proper scrap segregation and safe, compliant operations while supporting facility expansion.

The role requires hands-on supervision and strong practical experience in scrap metal or heavy industrial environments. You will monitor productivity and provide regular updates to management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily scrap-yard operations and allocate manpower according to workload and priorities.
• Plan and organize receiving, unloading, sorting, grading, processing, storage, loading, and dispatch activities.
• Ensure ferrous and non-ferrous scrap is properly identified, segregated, labelled, and stored.
• Monitor scrap such as mild steel, HMS, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass, cables, and other industrial metals.
• Identify contamination, mixed materials, attachments, foreign materials, and incorrect grading.
• Coordinate truck movements and loading/unloading activities to reduce waiting time and yard congestion.
• Monitor stock locations and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Ensure employees follow company SOPs, safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental requirements.
• Support management in implementing new SOPs and improving existing work processes.
• Monitor worker productivity, attendance, discipline, and performance.
• Provide daily or weekly operational updates to management.

The Scrap Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the scrap yard, including manpower coordination, material receiving, sorting, grading, storage, processing, loading, dispatch, housekeeping, safety, and equipment utilisation. The role requires a hands-on supervisor with strong practical experience in scrap metal, recycling, metal processing, steel, foundry, industrial waste, or similar heavy industrial operations. The successful candidate will be expected to organize the operational team, improve workflow, maintain discipline and safety, reduce material losses, ensure proper scrap segregation, and support the company’s facility expansion.
