in Kuala Lumpur invites a capable Project Engineer to assist the Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager in delivering building automation projects (BACnet, SCADA) with on-site commissioning, data center focus, and customer training. The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor in Electrical & Electronic or Mechanical Engineering; hands-on BACnet, SCADA experience, AutoCAD drawing, and strong planning and communication skills.

Qualifications

• At least a Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Electrical & Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Building Management System knowledge is advantageous.
• Hands-on BACnet engineering with BACnet/IP configuration and troubleshooting.
• Projects in commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, or factories preferred.
• Capable of interpreting BACnet protocols in building automation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager to deliver projects.
• Review contract docs, construction plans, specs, and contracts.
• Create shop drawings, control schematics, and panel drawings via AutoCAD.
• SCADA programming, system configuration, and on-site commissioning.
• Conduct system testing (Cx) and transition to operations.
• Participate in data center projects during construction and commissioning.
• Prepare equipment lists and request supplier quotations.
• Coordinate material delivery to meet schedules.
• Prepare costs estimates and budgeting support.
• Prepare progress claims and submit to customers.
• Site testing and commissioning, coordinate with subcontractors.
• Provide on-site training and develop engineering docs.
• Maintain customer satisfaction and handle issues professionally.
• Attend site meetings and ensure confidentiality of information.

Job description

Assist the Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager to handle the project effectively.

Responsible for reviewing contract documents including constructions plans. Specifications and contracts to determine project requirements.

Responsible for creating shop drawings, control schematic drawings and panel drawings utilizing AutoCAD.

Responsible for SCADA programming , system configuration and on-site commissioning.

Responsible for conducting system testing (Cx) and supporting the transition to operational readiness.

Participate in data center projects esp during the construction and commissioning phases.

Create equipment list for the ordering required. Assist to request quotation from supplier.

Coordinates delivery of material to ensure timely arrival of goods to meet project installation schedules.

Validates and control project engineering costs.

Provide on-site training to the customers.

Develop and update engineering documentation.

Provide assistance to Project Manager in generating Operation & Maintenance Manuals.

Assist in preparation of costs estimates and budgeting for projects.

Assist in preparation of progress claim and submit to customers.

Responsible for site Testing & Commissioning.

Provide assistance and coordinates with installation subcontractors.

Update job progress status including submit weekly report to superior.

Attend site meetings and resolving engineering and projects management issues when requested.

Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, communication with staff and providing customer feedback.

Coordinates and communicates with Main Contractors and other external projects participants to obtain equipment submittal data, respond and clarify issues.

Assist in service maintenance works.

Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and revert the complaints to superior to solve the issues in the professional manner.

Ensure customer information to be kept confidentially and adequately according to company rules and regulations.

Work with sales team to ensure after-sales service to customer, providing expert advice / consultancy, strengthening customer relationship, etc.

Work closely and maintain good communication within department and other departments.

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Responsible for any other tasks assigned from time to time by superior.

Education and/or work experience requirements:

At least a Diploma holder or Bachelor Degree in Electrical & Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Building Management System:

Possess technical knowledge of building automation system (HVAC mechanical and controls) will be an added advantage.

Must have hands-on experience in BACnet engineering, including BACnet/IP configuration, device integration, and troubleshooting.

Possess project experience in commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, or factories is acceptable.

Capable of interpreting and implementing BACnet protocols in building automation systems.

Possess practical experience in SCADA system development and commissioning. Familiarity with PC View or ICONICS is preferred, but other platforms are also acceptable.

Experience in integrating SCADA systems with BMS and other subsystems is a plus.

Data Center Project Involvement:

Possess technical knowledge of critical infrastructure systems such as HVAC, power monitoring, and environmental control will be an added advantage.

General Requirements:

Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English, or Japanese (is an added advantage) including ability to speak effectively with vendors, customers and within organization.

Required Skill(s): Planning, organization, strong follow-up, communication, interpersonal, negotiation, planning and problem solving.

Primary work locations are Kuala Lumpur & Cyberjaya, with potential travel to other project sites within Malaysia depending on project needs.
