Job summary

Eco Valley Retreat & Tours SDN BHD in Sabah, Malaysia, seeks a Sales Receptionist to handle front-desk duties while proactively converting inquiries into bookings.

You will upsell rooms, retreat packages, travel add-ons and activities, greet guests warmly, manage reservations and invoicing, and coordinate with housekeeping, F&B, and activities teams.

Must have 1–2 years in sales or guest services, strong English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia, and the ability to work shifts, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in sales, customer service or front desk/reception in hospitality or tourism.
• Educational background in Hospitality, Tourism, Business, Marketing, or related field.
• Strong communication and persuasive skills; comfortable with proactive selling.

Job description

As Sales Receptionist, you will handle front-desk duties while proactively converting inquiries into bookings. You will play a key role in driving retreat revenue by upselling rooms, packages, and nature activities. This role is ideal for someone with a natural sales instinct, a warm personality, and excellent administrative skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Sales & Upselling: Proactively promote and sell retreat packages, travel packages, room upgrades, and nature activities to walk-in guests, phone callers, and online inquirers.
• Guest Reception: Welcome guests warmly, handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently, and provide accurate information about retreat facilities and local attractions.
• Inquiry Management: Respond promptly to sales inquiries via phone, WhatsApp, email, and social media channels. Convert leads into confirmed bookings.
• Admin Duties: Manage reservations, issue invoices, process payments, and maintain accurate daily sales reports and guest records.
• Package Promotion: Assist the Manager in creating and updating retreat and travel packages. Display and explain promotional materials creatively.
• Coordination: Communicate guest needs and special requests to housekeeping, F&B, and activities teams.
• Coverage: Step in to support other front-office or basic admin tasks during breaks, staff absences, or peak hours as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or front desk/reception role (hospitality or tourism industry preferred).
• Educational background in Hospitality, Tourism, Business, Marketing, or related field.
• Strong communication and persuasion skills. Comfortable with proactive selling.
• Basic to intermediate computer literacy (MS Office, email, booking systems, WhatsApp Business).
• Fluent in English, Chinese & Bahasa Malaysia.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Honest, responsible, and calm under pressure. A people-person with a problem-solving mindset.
