Qualifications

We are seeking a Chinese Sales Assistant Optical to join the team at Onsight Optical in Mount Austin, Johor. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales within our optical retail environment. As a Sales Assistant, you will be the face of our company, helping customers find the perfect eyewear solutions whilst building lasting relationships and contributing to our store's success.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting customers warmly and professionally, understanding their optical needs and preferences
• Assisting customers in selecting frames and lenses that suit their style, budget and vision requirements
• Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems
• Maintaining detailed knowledge of our product range, including frames, lenses, and accessories
• Providing product information and recommendations to help customers make informed decisions
• Managing stock levels, organising displays and ensuring the store is clean, tidy and visually appealing
• Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues with professionalism and patience
• Supporting the optical team with administrative tasks and appointment scheduling as needed
• Meeting sales targets and contributing to the overall performance of the store

What we’re looking for

• Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably in optical, eyewear or luxury goods retail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse customers
• Excellent attention to detail and product knowledge awareness
• Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required
• A keen interest in fashion, eyewear and helping customers feel confident
• Numeracy skills with the ability to handle cash and card transactions accurately
• Reliability, punctuality and a positive, professional attitude
• Fluency in English and Malay; additional languages are advantageous
