Job summary

Onsight Optical in Mount Austin, Johor Bahru is seeking a qualified Optometrist for a full-time role to deliver comprehensive eye care services. You will conduct eye examinations, diagnose conditions, and prescribe corrective lenses and treatments.

The successful candidate will use phoropters, OCT and tonometers, maintain detailed patient records, and collaborate with ophthalmologists to ensure high-quality care. Ongoing training and a professional work environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Optometry from an accredited institution.
• Valid optometry registration or licensure in Malaysia.
• Proficiency with phoropters, tonometers and OCT diagnostic equipment.
• Strong knowledge of refractive errors, ocular diseases and therapeutic optometry.
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and consent.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using diagnostic equipment to assess visual health.
• Diagnose refractive errors, eye diseases and other visual disorders.
• Prescribe spectacles and contact lenses tailored to patient needs.
• Manage conditions such as dry eye, presbyopia and astigmatism.

Onsight Optical is seeking a qualified Optometrist to join our team in Mount Austin, Johor. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to deliver comprehensive eye care services to our diverse patient population. As an Optometrist, you will play a crucial role in our clinic, conducting thorough eye examinations, diagnosing visual defects and eye diseases, and prescribing corrective lenses and treatments. Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using advanced diagnostic equipment to assess visual acuity and eye health
• Diagnose refractive errors, eye diseases, and other visual disorders
• Prescribe corrective lenses, including spectacles and contact lenses, tailored to individual patient needs
• Manage and treat common eye conditions such as dry eye, presbyopia, and astigmatism
• Provide patient education on eye care, contact lens care, and the importance of regular eye examinations
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
• Recommend appropriate eyewear solutions and advise on lens options and coatings
• Perform preliminary testing and assist in the fitting of specialised lenses
• Uphold high standards of clinical practice and patient confidentiality

What we’re looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Optometry from an accredited institution
• Valid optometry registration or licensure in MalaysiaProficiency in using diagnostic equipment such as phoropters, tonometers, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) machines
• Strong knowledge of refractive errors, ocular diseases, and therapeutic optometry
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex eye conditions to patients in clear, understandable terms
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate clinical records
• Patient-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a healthcare team
• Willingness to engage in continuing professional development and stay current with optical practice advancements
• Previous experience in an optical clinic or healthcare setting is preferred
