Job summary

CHM Hotels is seeking a diligent Security Officer to safeguard guests and staff across our Ipoh property. You will respond to incidents, conduct premises security checks, and manage access control while maintaining precise incident logs.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and proven experience in hospitality security, with strong communication, observation, and crisis management skills to ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and hospitality security experience.
• Experience in hotel security or similar environment with emergency response.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills under pressure.
• Excellent observation and risk identification abilities.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and guest concerns and document all occurrences in incident reports.
• Conduct security checks of entrances, exits, and potential vulnerability points.
• Manage access control systems and verify IDs of visitors and couriers.
• Maintain CCTV, alarms, and surveillance equipment and review footage as needed.
• Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services when required.
• Provide security briefings and training to hotel staff on safety protocols.
• Keep detailed logs of security activities and communicate with management.
• Ensure compliance with security regulations, health and safety legislation, and hotel policies.

• Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and guest concerns, taking appropriate action and documenting all occurrences in incident reports
• Conduct thorough security checks and inspections of the property, including entrances, exits, and potential vulnerability points
• Manage access control systems and verify identification of visitors and delivery personnel entering the premises
• Maintain surveillance systems, CCTV equipment, and alarm systems, ensuring all are functioning optimally and reviewing footage when necessary
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required, providing clear information and assistance: BOMBA, JKKP, DOSH and etc
• Conduct security briefings and training sessions for hotel staff on safety protocols and emergency procedures
• Maintain detailed logs of security activities, incidents, and suspicious behaviour, and communicate relevant information to management
• Ensure compliance with all security regulations, health and safety legislation, and hotel policies
• Maintaining records and reports
• Coordinating OSH meetings as per the requirements

What we're looking for

• Bachelors Degree in related field
• Proven experience working in a security role within the hospitality industry or a similar environment requiring vigilant monitoring and emergency response capabilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations professionally
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential security risks
• Knowledge of emergency procedures, first aid awareness, and crisis management is advantageous
• A professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
