We are looking for a talented individual that is instrumental in supporting the health and safety initiatives at Fairmont Industries (on two sites: warehouse and factory located 10 minutes apart). This role is responsible for coordinating and monitoring safety policies, conducting safety audits, maintaining safety records, and ensuring all employees adhere to establish safety standards. The ideal candidate will have solid administrative skills with a practical understanding of safety management. The main duties of the role are not limited to:
Independently conduct regular safety inspections and audits across various locations to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
Actively coordinate and lead safety training sessions, ensuring employees are educated on the latest health and safety practices and procedures.
Take a proactive role in the development and implementation of safety policies, adapting strategies to meet the unique needs of each site.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related issues, demonstrating the ability to resolve concerns efficiently and effectively.
Manage and maintain up-to-date safety documentation, including incident reports, inspection logs, and training records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Directly engage with employees and management to foster a culture of safety, soliciting feedback and implementing improvements to safety protocols.
Oversee the maintenance and readiness of safety equipment, conducting hands-on checks and coordinating repairs or replacements as necessary.
Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to safety through personal actions and a willingness to address and rectify safety violations directly.
Collaborate with external safety consultants and inspectors to facilitate comprehensive safety audits and follow up on recommendations.
Be prepared to undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by management, ensuring alignment with evolving organizational needs and priorities.
