Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences is seeking a Rooms Controller to provide administrative and operational support across the Rooms Division. You will help maintain accurate room statuses, coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, and Engineering to ensure room readiness for arrivals and departures, and produce daily reports.
The role requires a Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management and experience in Rooms Control or related hotel functions.
The Rooms Controller provides administrative and operational support to the Rooms Division, ensuring accurate room status management and effective coordination between Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Reservations, and other hotel departments. The role supports smooth room readiness and maintains five-star service standards.
Monitor and maintain accurate room status in the Property Management System (PMS).
Coordinate closely with Front Office and Housekeeping to ensure timely room cleaning, inspection, and release.
Monitor room discrepancies and follow up on unresolved room status issues.
Coordinate room readiness for arrivals, departures, VIPs, groups, early arrivals, late departures, and special requests.
Liaise with Engineering and Housekeeping on room defects, repairs, maintenance, and Out of Order/Out of Service rooms.
Prepare and distribute daily room status, arrival, departure, discrepancy, and room readiness reports.
Assist with room allocations, room blocks, group movements, room moves, and special accommodation requirements.
Monitor and update room inventory and related information in the PMS.
Maintain accurate Rooms Division records, reports, checklists, and documentation.
Follow up on outstanding room-related requests and ensure timely completion.
Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly Rooms Division reports, statistics, and forecasts.
Maintain confidentiality of guest and hotel information.
Communicate professionally with hotel departments, guests, suppliers, and contractors when required.
Support the Rooms Division in maintaining operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and five-star service standards.
Perform other reasonable duties assigned by Rooms Division or Hotel Management.
Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Relevant experience may be considered.
Previous experience in Rooms Control, Front Office, Housekeeping Coordination, Rooms Division, or a similar hotel role is preferred.
Experience in a five-star hotel or luxury resort is an advantage.
Good knowledge of hotel operations, particularly Front Office and Housekeeping.
Proficiency in PMS, preferably Opera, and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational, administrative, communication, and follow-up skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Good command of written and spoken English.
Professional, proactive, reliable, and service-oriented.
Able to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with colleagues across departments.
Willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and during peak hotel operations or events.
