Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Retail Assistant to greet customers, handle inquiries, promote products and assist with order fulfilment. The role includes stock reception, display maintenance, cashiering duties, and participation in stock-takes and store promotions.

The ideal candidate should have basic cashiering knowledge, good communication skills, and be able to work independently or in a team. Shifts, weekends, and public holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Malaysian Only.
• Previous experience in retail, customer service, cashiering or related field is an added advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-oriented attitude.
• Basic knowledge of cashiering, stock handling, inventory management and retail outlet operations.
• Able to perform basic calculations and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene.
• Able to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
• Physically fit and able to perform retail duties, including standing for extended periods and handling stocks.

Responsibilities

• Greet walk-in customers and attend to their shopping enquiries.
• Promote products to customers and assist with order fulfilment processes.
• Receive stocks and maintain quality and display standards.
• Perform cashiering duties including exchanges and refunds and promote loyalty programme.
• Assist in opening/closing retail outlet and cashier balancing.
• Participate in stock-take and reorder proposals.
• Maintain housekeeping and hygiene standards and retail displays.
• Provide on-job training and guidance to new Retail Assistants with supervision.
• Support supervisor to improve outlet performance and reduce wastage and expired products.
• Fulfill duties of Assistant Retail Supervisor in their absence.
