Job summary

PositiveLinks Asia is partnering with a well-established retailer in Malaysia to hire a Retail Brand Manager. The role focuses on brand performance, supplier management, and inventory control within a dynamic retail environment.

The successful candidate will manage brand portfolios, develop business plans, coordinate with supply chain, and drive profitability through data-driven decisions and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in brand management and commercial management within the retail industry in Malaysia.
• Experience managing multiple brands or a portfolio of products.
• Strong commercial acumen with understanding of revenue, gross margins, profitability and P&L.
• Experience in demand planning, sales forecasting, inventory management, product assortment, or supply chain coordination.
• Proven ability to manage external principals, suppliers and other stakeholders, including negotiation.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and translate insights into business decisions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, commercially minded with ability to balance strategy and hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of brands with commercial performance and growth.
• Build relationships with brand principals and suppliers; negotiate allocations.
• Develop brand plans, sales forecasts, revenue projections and inventory strategies.
• Plan product assortment, stock purchases, and replenishment based on demand.
• Coordinate procurement, stock allocation, warehousing, and distribution.
• Monitor revenue, margins, inventory turnover and other KPIs.
• Identify opportunities to introduce new products and expand market presence.
• Collaborate with marketing on campaigns, launches, and promotions.
• Align commercial priorities and sales targets with internal/external partners.
• Analyse sales data and stock movement to inform decisions.
