Job summary

Muji Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a customer‑oriented retail Associate to deliver attentive service and assist in achieving sales budgets. You will greet customers, share product information, and support stock replenishment and cashier duties on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities include tagging, labeling, stock checks, and maintaining safety and housekeeping standards. You will also feedback stock movements and help ensure displays meet Muji standards.

Qualifications

• SPM or equivalent educational background required.
• Positive attitude and passion for retail industry.
• Good eye for detail and strong communication skills.
• Ability to interact well with customers and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving daily and monthly sales targets and budgets.
• Provide product information and attentive service to customers.
• Greet customers on the sales floor and assist with inquiries.
• Support stock handling: receiving, tagging, labeling and stock checks.
• Monitor goods for expiry dates and maintain housekeeping.
• Assist in cashier duties and process transactions when needed.
• Feedback fast and slow moving stock to improve display and availability.
• Ensure stock is displayed and FIFO is maintained to reduce aging.
• Understand extended services and fees (home delivery and alterations).
• Gather customer feedback and propose improvements to supervisors.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving daily and monthly sales budget.
• Assist in carrying out the weekly sales action plan at their assigned areas or departments
• Provide product information and service to customers pro-actively
• Greet and assist customer at the sales floor attentively
• Assist in receiving, counting of stocks, tagging and labeling
• Monitor and check goods with expiry date (Health & Beauty / Food)
• Do daily/weekly housekeeping
• Assist in tagging sensor tag, especially for garment
• Actively feedback on fast and slow moving stock
• Maintain the work area by adhering to the safety standards as required
• Perform daily stock replenishment
• Assist the cashier at the Checkout point when required
• Responsible in the reporting of price error
• Equipped with the knowledge of the extended services and fees involved (Home delivery & Alteration)
• Demonstrate appropriate customer service skills as according to the Muji standard
• Provide effective and efficient service to assist the customers of all aspects
• Gather feedback from customer and suggest improvement for the areas to the superior
• Ensure stock sold by first in first out to avoid an increase of aging merchandise
• Report on any discrepancy of stock holding against the system
• Ensure all available stock are being displayed

Requirements

• Minimum SPM with 1 – 2 years of retail experience will be an added advantage
• Positive and with passion in retail industry
• Like interacting with customers and have an eye for details
