Job summary

Maxis Malaysia is seeking a capable Retail Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations of a Maxis Mobile retail store, ensuring outstanding customer service and sales performance.

You will lead a team of sales consultants, oversee opening/closing, inventory, and merchandising, train staff, and help with scheduling while upholding store standards and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of retail sales experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in leading, coaching, and motivating a team of retail sales consultants to achieve sales goals.
• Oversee daily store operations, including opening/closing, cash handling, inventory, and merchandising.
• Engage customers, resolve complaints, and provide expert advice on Maxis products and services to ensure satisfaction.
• Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and implement strategies to grow sales and profitability.
• Train new employees on product knowledge, sales techniques, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment.
• Participate in scheduling, performance reviews, and other HR tasks as needed by the Store Manager.

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in leading, coaching, and motivating a team of retail sales consultants to achieve individual and store sales goals.
• Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, inventory management, and visual merchandising standards.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by actively engaging with customers, resolving complaints, and providing expert advice on Maxis products and services.
• Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and implement strategies to drive sales growth and profitability.
• Train new employees on product knowledge, sales techniques, and company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment.
• Assist with scheduling, performance reviews, and other HR-related tasks as delegated by the Store Manager.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and security measures.
• Act as Store Manager in their absence, taking full responsibility for store operations and team leadership.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail sales, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant management role, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a sales team.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Sound knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and cash handling.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
