Job summary

Effective Bond Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is hiring for an entry-level cafe assistant. You will assist in food and beverage prep, greet customers, take orders, and help maintain a clean dining area.

On-the-job training provided; no prior experience required. Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is required. Strong teamwork and customer service mindset will help you thrive in a busy cafe environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in food and beverage preparation according to café standards.
• Follow standard recipes and procedures.
• Greet and serve customers courteously.
• Take customer orders accurately and relay them promptly to the kitchen/counter.
• Serve food and beverages to customers’ tables in a timely manner.
• Clear, wipe and reset tables promptly after each use to maintain a clean dining area.
• Ensure the dining area, condiment stations and seating are kept clean, tidy and well-stocked.
• Attend to customer requests and address minor concerns, escalating to a supervisor when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, preparation areas, storage areas and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen tools promptly.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene and sanitation regulations at all times.
• Assist with stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Report low stock levels or expired items to supervisors promptly
• Assist other stations during peak periods or manpower shortages when required
• Support basic operational tasks to ensure a smooth service flow
• Ensure core BOH responsibilities are completed before assisting other stations
• Report to work on time and adhere to assigned schedules
• Follow company policies, procedures and workplace rules
• Maintain punctuality, professionalism and effective teamwork at all times
• Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to operational needs
• Avoid a task-limited mindset and contribute positively to overall café operations
