Job summary

Responsibilities

• Evaluate adequacy, effectiveness, and implementation of the Contractor's HSE Management System and Environmental, Safety and Health Management Plan (ESHMP)
• Ensure alignment of the ESHMP with applicable Malaysian legislation, EIA Conditions of Approval, and the Client's HSE standards
• Review and provide recommendations for improvement of HSE procedures, risk assessments, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and control measures
• Conduct regular HSE inspections, audits, and monitoring activities to identify unsafe conditions and non-compliances
• Immediately report to the Architect for any violation of safety procedures and measures on site and initiate necessary preventive/corrective actions
• Review and monitor increased-risk activities, including Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, lifting operations, confined space entry, hot works, and work at height
• Ensure environmental compliance in accordance with approval conditions, including waste management, water discharge, noise, dust, and energy monitoring
• Participate in or lead incident investigations and review root cause analyses
• Conduct safety briefings, coaching sessions, and training to reinforce compliance with the ESHMP and statutory requirements
• Prepare periodic HSE reports list compliance status, incident statistics, increased-risk activities, outstanding corrective actions, and environmental performance data
