Job summary

WSG Properties Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to lead on-site supervision in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. You will oversee and monitor construction activities to ensure conformance with drawings, specifications, and the approved construction programme, while coordinating with consultants, main contractors and subcontractors.

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering drawings, specifications and site practices.
• Good understanding of project coordination, quality control and construction progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee daily construction activities on behalf of the Developer.
• Coordinate closely with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress against the approved construction programmed and highlight potential delays or issues.
• Review and monitor construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Review technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements and material submissions where required.
• Conduct regular site inspections and follow up on defects, non-compliance and outstanding works.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors to resolve technical and site-related issues.
• Monitor the quality of workmanship, materials and construction methods.
• Attend site meetings and provide updates to management on project progress, technical matters and outstanding issues.
• Review site reports, inspection records, testing reports and other relevant project documentation.
• Monitor contractor performance and follow up on corrective and outstanding works.
• Assist in monitoring project completion, handover and defects rectification.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

We are seeking an experienced and responsible Resident Engineer (RE) to join our project team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

As part of the Developer's Project Team, you will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring construction activities to ensure that the project is delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project requirements and the approved construction programme.

Responsibilities

Monitor and oversee daily construction activities on behalf of the Developer.

Coordinate closely with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction, site supervision or project management, preferably in building or property development projects.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering drawings, specifications and site practices.

Good understanding of project coordination, quality control and construction progress monitoring.

Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Good ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and project documentation.

Able to work independently and manage multiple site matters effectively.

Responsible, proactive and detail-oriented.

Willing to be based at the project site in Sabah.
