Job summary

Menara Maxis is seeking a Reporting Intern to gain hands-on experience in business intelligence and analytics development. You’ll work with specialists to enhance reporting frameworks and data solutions.

Responsibilities include developing dashboards in Power BI, monitoring reporting operations, and collaborating with analysts to meet reporting needs. A Bachelor's degree in Data Science or related fields is required. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, IT, Business Analytics, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services, particularly BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.

About the Role

Join Maxis as a Reporting Intern and gain hands‑on experience in business intelligence, cloud‑based data reporting, and analytics development. You will work alongside reporting specialists, business analysts, and stakeholders to develop data‑driven insights, support reporting operations, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of reporting frameworks and data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Agile Reporting Development (GCP & Power BI): Participate in Scrum‑based development sprints to design, build, and deploy interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualisations using Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Power BI.
• Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements, document reporting needs, and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
• Operational Job Monitoring: Monitor daily reporting operations, automated jobs, and data pipelines to ensure scheduled reporting processes run smoothly; assist in identifying, investigating, and resolving reporting issues or anomalies.
• Change Request Assessment: Support the evaluation of user change requests by analysing the technical impact on existing reports, assessing feasibility, and assisting with implementation planning.
• Quality Assurance & Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, data models, and reporting specifications while conducting quality assurance testing to ensure dashboards and reports meet business requirements before release.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services, particularly BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar business intelligence and data visualisation tools.
• Understanding of data pipeline architecture, data integration processes, and batch or streaming data processing concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Interest in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Internship Period
