Job summary

Aiodin Tech Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is seeking a Senior Backend Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems. You will work with product and engineering teams on architecture, API design, and production support, delivering high-throughput services.

The role emphasizes PHP/Laravel development, MySQL data modeling, and microservice-driven design, with Docker in the deployment stack and opportunities to leverage AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong PHP and Laravel knowledge.
• Strong MySQL knowledge.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Experience building scalable backend apps and services.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Experience with asynchronous queues, caching, and event-driven systems.
• Experience with Docker.
• Experience with Kafka/ClickHouse/FastAPI/Elasticsearch is a plus.
• Prior leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high-throughput RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Develop end-to-end backend features using PHP and Laravel.
• Participate in system architecture and technical solution design.
• Design and implement asynchronous workflows, queues, caching, and event-driven systems.
• Develop and maintain microservices and system integrations.
• Work closely with Product, Frontend, QA, and other technical teams.
• Participate in technical planning and development estimation.
• Conduct code reviews and support/mentor other developers where required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Optimize system reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Work with Docker and modern development/deployment environments.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.
