Job summary

GENCODE SDN BHD in Malaysia seeks a skilled full stack developer with 3–5 years of experience in PHP/Laravel to design, develop and maintain web applications and integrations. You will work on APIs, databases (MySQL) and cloud deployments, while applying best practices for security and performance.

You will collaborate with Product, UI/UX, DevOps and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions, and may utilise AI coding tools to boost productivity and code quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or other relevant field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in full stack or software development.
• Strong hands-on experience in PHP and Laravel Framework.
• Good understanding of REST API, web services, and system integration.
• Knowledge or experience in Java is an advantage.
• Experience with Git/version control and software development lifecycle practices.
• Knowledge of AWS/cloud platforms is an advantage.
• Experience in enterprise applications, SaaS, digital products, or system integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, maintain, and support web applications using PHP/Laravel.
• Develop backend services, frontend interfaces, REST APIs, and system integrations.
• Design, develop, and optimise databases, primarily MySQL.
• Support Java-based applications and services where required.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance and reliability.
• Apply good practices in coding, testing, Git/version control, documentation, and application security.
• Develop, enhance, maintain, and support GenCode’s digital products and platforms.
• Support the continuous development and enhancement of GenBlu, particularly its loyalty and customer engagement capabilities.
• Support new product development, system enhancements, and commercialisation initiatives.
• Develop and maintain integrations with ERP, CRM, Data Lake, payment platforms, third-party systems, and enterprise applications.
• Build and maintain reliable APIs and data services across GenCode platforms.
• Support applications deployed on AWS and other cloud environments.
• Ensure solutions meet requirements for performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Utilise AI coding tools to improve development productivity.
• Leverage AI for code generation, debugging, refactoring, testing, documentation, and optimisation.
• Adopt modern AI-assisted software engineering practices to improve development efficiency and code quality.
• Support the integration of AI/LLM and Agentic AI capabilities into GenCode products where applicable.
• Work closely with Product, UI/UX, DevOps, AI, Project Management, and business teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Translate business and functional requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Participate in technical design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Contribute ideas for product enhancement, technology improvement, and development efficiency.
