Job summary

Hunters International in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Regional Sales Manager for Southeast Asia to drive new business development, expand market presence, and manage key OEM accounts across Construction, Steel, and Mining.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will lead the full sales lifecycle, forecast pipeline, and collaborate with product, engineering and finance to exceed revenue targets while traveling across the region as required.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of proven sales or commercial management experience in industrial equipment, heavy machinery, Construction, Steel, or Mining sectors.

Responsibilities

Our client, an established global provider of specialized industrial engineering solutions, is seeking a results-driven Regional Sales Manager for Southeast Asia. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role focuses on driving new business development, expanding market presence, and managing key OEM accounts across target sectors including Construction, Steel, and Mining.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Development & Lead Generation: Identify and convert new business opportunities across the Construction, Steel, and Mining industries through direct prospecting, networking, and industry events. Oversee the full sales lifecycle from lead generation to deal closure.
• Account & Pipeline Management: Act as the primary manager for top OEM accounts, project contractors, mine operators, and end-users. Maintain accurate sales forecasting and pipeline records using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
• Strategic Market Expansion: Perform continuous market analysis to monitor competitor activity, evaluate product coverage, and execute strategies to exceed regional revenue and margin targets.
• Tender & Technical Sales: Evaluate complex commercial and technical tender documents within heavy industrial sectors to prepare customized, value-driven technical proposals.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global/regional product teams, engineering, operations, and local finance to align sales execution with broader corporate goals.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience: 5-8 years of proven sales or commercial management experience in industrial equipment, heavy machinery, Construction, Steel, or Mining sectors. A background in value-solution selling is highly preferred.
• Technical Background: Educational qualifications or equivalent hands-on experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Skills: Strong track record in new business acquisition ("hunter" mindset), direct contract negotiation, and translating complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
• Language & Systems: Fluent proficiency in English; hands-on experience with modern ERP/CRM platforms (Salesforce exposure is a plus).
• Travel: Ability to travel frequently throughout the Southeast Asia region as required.
