Job summary

Micro-X, based in Malaysia, seeks a Technical Support Engineer to lead escalated distributor cases across APAC, provide remote diagnostics and field support, and ensure spare-parts availability and inventory accuracy. You will liaise with engineers, QA, and operations, and mentor distributor staff while maintaining service records and documentation.

Qualifications

Diploma, advanced diploma or degree in electronics, electrical, mechatronics, biomedical engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
At least five years' field service or technical support experience with medical X-ray, diagnostic imaging or similarly complex regulated equipment.
Experience supporting distributors, service partners or geographically dispersed customers across cultures and time zones.
Practical inventory-control experience, including forecasting, replenishment, cycle counting, traceability, returns and reconciliation.
Demonstrated ability in methodical fault-finding, remote diagnosis and root-cause analysis across electrical, electronic, mechanical, software and network interfaces.
Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, service manuals, work instructions and change documentation.
Strong written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Competence with Microsoft 365, service-desk or CRM systems, and inventory or ERP platforms.

Responsibilities

Act as the first escalation point for distributor technical cases that cannot be resolved through standard service procedures, providing remote fault diagnosis and field support when required.
Own cases from escalation through to verified closure, maintaining clear and timely communication with distributors and Adelaide-based stakeholders.
Escalate complex, safety-related, recurring or product-performance issues to engineering, quality and operations teams with complete evidence.
Manage regional service-parts inventory, including stock levels, forecasting, traceability, cycle counts and coordination of orders, returns and disposals.
Coach distributor service personnel and deliver or support technical training and competency assessments, remotely and in person.
Maintain accurate service records and reports, and contribute to service bulletins, troubleshooting guides and technical documentation.
Identify recurring service and product trends, support root-cause investigations and raise actionable improvement opportunities.
