Job summary

DayOne in Malaysia seeks a Regional Electrical Authority to define the engineering standards for Southeast Asia sites, including switching standards, arc flash controls, and maintenance playbooks. You will own escalation handling of complex electrical events, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions across sites with regional and global impact.

This is a technical authority role with no direct reports at start; influence comes from written standards, training, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in electrical engineering, facilities operations or critical infrastructure.
• Technical SME for the full electrical chain: utility interface, substations, MV/LV distribution, protection, standby generation and critical loads.
• Depth in protection: relay settings, coordination and fault analysis.
• Experience with IEC 61850, SCADA and EPMS integration, and arc flash assessment.
• Hands-on switching, commissioning and operational readiness in live facilities.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and NFPA 70/70E standards and SEA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Set regional electrical standards for Southeast Asia sites, including switching and arc flash.
• Lead escalation on complex electrical events and drive root cause analysis across sites.
• Own operation, maintenance and lifecycle of HV/MV/LV systems and protection.
• Oversee generators, UPS, batteries, STS, PDU/RPP, and power monitoring.
• Coordinate with OEMs and vendors; ensure safe, compliant execution.
• Develop capability through training and writing clear standards.
