Job summary

Travelodge Hotels Asia is seeking a Cluster Chief Engineer to oversee engineering and technical services across Malaysia and Singapore. You will lead maintenance, safety, energy management, and project execution while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and brand standards.

You will manage CAPEX planning, asset replacement, and supplier performance, coordinating cross-functional teams, and driving cost-efficient maintenance across multiple properties.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in the hotel industry, with experience in a senior engineering role.
• Experience in hotel operations, project execution, CAPEX, asset management, and contractor management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate engineering and maintenance operations across the assigned properties to ensure facilities, equipment, and building systems are safe, functional, reliable, and well maintained.
• Lead and support Engineering teams in preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of engineering issues with ownership for PPM and defects.
• Develop and implement succession plans for Engineering teams to strengthen internal capabilities and ensure talent pipeline.
• Ensure consistent engineering standards, SOPs, procedures, and safety practices across properties.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits with corrective actions followed through.
• Lead emergency response and incident management for major engineering breakdowns and ensure business continuity.
• Coordinate renovation, refurbishment, upgrading, and other engineering projects with proper planning and quality control.
