Job summary

Accor is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to oversee the safe, efficient operation of the hotel's engineering systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing and BMS.

You will provide hands-on leadership for hotel-wide engineering operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, and team supervision while ensuring compliance with Malaysian regulations and hotel standards to deliver a seamless guest experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years in hotel engineering operations, with at least 3 years in supervision.
• Strong knowledge of hotel engineering systems (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, BMS).
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills; proficient in engineering software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, efficient operation of hotel engineering systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, BMS).
• Provide hands-on leadership in hotel-wide engineering operations and supervision of the engineering team.
• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support seamless guest experience through reliable engineering services.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and hotel standards.

Job Description

The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the hotel's engineering systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and Building Management Systems (BMS). This role provides hands-on leadership in hotel-wide engineering operations, preventive and corrective maintenance and team supervision. The position ensures that all engineering activities comply with applicable Malaysian regulatory requirements, hotel standards, safety procedures and operational requirements, while supporting a seamless guest experience and the efficient day-to-day operation of the hotel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in hotel engineering operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong knowledge of hotel engineering systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, building automation, fire protection systems and applicable Malaysian engineering regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with good proficiency in engineering-related software and Microsoft Office applications.
