Job summary

Railway Assets Corporation in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Engineer, Rail Project (Systems, Electrifications & Trackworks) to support the implementation and delivery of rail projects. You will provide technical expertise and assist in ensuring successful engineering outcomes across rail systems, electrification and trackworks.

The role requires solid rail knowledge, project coordination skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Rail Transportation, Railway System, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in rail engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is an advantage.
• KTMB Project experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of rail systems, infrastructure and industry standards.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, MicroStation).

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of rail engineering projects.
• Provide technical input and assist senior engineers and project teams.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to meet project requirements.
• Monitor project progress, timelines, and budgets, and report updates.
• Identify engineering issues and assist in developing practical solutions.
• Stay updated with advancements in rail technology and industry practices.
• Assist in supervising Assistant Engineers and Technicians where required.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation as requested by VP Rail or COO Rail.
• Review and support evaluation of daily and monthly reports prepared by RAC staff.
• Participate in site inspections for Rail Unit projects.
• Attend internal and external meetings, workshops, tests, and inspections, and prepare minutes when necessary.
• Undertake other rail-related tasks as assigned by VP Rail or COO Rail.
