Qualifications

  • Diploma in Medical Imaging or equivalent.
  • Registration with MHPS.
  • Proficiency in X-ray, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy.
  • Familiar with PACS and RIS.
  • Knowledge of contrast media and safety protocols.
  • Experience with radiation protection and patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Implement imaging service policies and procedures.
  • Oversee daily diagnostic imaging operations to ensure quality service.
  • Assist head of department with equipment maintenance and management.
  • Supervise, train and orient radiographers and trainees.
  • Obtain high-quality images with minimal radiation exposure.
  • Ensure hygiene and infection control in the department.

Job description

RADIOGRAPHER, DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING SERVICES

Responsible in performing diagnostic imaging procedures, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. Also ensure patient safety, maintain imaging equipment, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high quality radiographic services.

2) JOB DESCRIPTION

Implement the policies and procedures for the Diagnostic Imaging Services in collaboration with management.

Ensure the effective management of daily operations, hence ensuring the provision of quality service to patients.

Assist the head of diagnostic imaging services in maintaining and managing the radiological equipment, accessories, and other equipment within the department.

To facilitate the daily operations and administration of the department in collaboration with the Radiology Manager.

Assist the head of diagnostic imaging services in supervising, training, and orienting other radiographers and subordinate staff.

Obtain high-quality images while minimising radiation exposure to patients and specialized in all modalities.

Deliver the utmost quality of patient care consistently to both internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure orderliness, cleanliness, and hygienic protocols to avert cross-infection inside the department are upheld consistently.

To perform overtime and additional responsibilities as assigned by the head of diagnostic imaging services.

To perform responsibilities as an employee as outlined in the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994:

  • To exercise due diligence at work for your own safety and that of others;
  • To collaborate with your employer or any other individual in fulfilling any obligation;
  • To don or utilise any protective gear or attire supplied by the employer;
  • To adhere to any directives or protocols regarding occupational safety and health.

Engage proactively in each newly implemented service introduced by the department. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and Hospital Accreditation, and maintain records.

Ensure adhere to Standard People Practice (SPP), The KPJ Way.

Ensure to adhere to BFHI Policy.

3) JOB REQUIREMENT
  • Minimum Diploma in Medical Imaging.
  • Register with Malaysian Healthcare Practitioner System (MHPS).
  • Proficiency in performing diagnostic imaging procedures (X-ray, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, etc.).
  • Familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) and RIS (Radiology Information Systems).
  • Knowledge of contrast media administration and potential allergic reactions.
  • Experience with radiation protection and patient safety measures.
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols in case of adverse reactions or medical incidents.
  • Clear and professional communication skills to explain procedures to patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
  • Ability to conduct quality control checks on imaging equipment and report issues.
  • Ability to assess image quality and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior radiographers and student trainees.
  • Skilled in handling anxious or pediatric patients with empathy and professionalism.
