Job summary

Rovski Sdn Bhd is seeking an R&D Product Development Engineer to plan and develop processes for product realization within our quality framework. You will set development stages, duties, and authority while benchmarking market products and establishing required documentation and resources.

You will apply a multidisciplinary approach to prep for realization, including FMEA and control plan reviews, and you will systematically verify that design changes meet requirements before approval.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry/Biochemistry or relevant field.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop the process needed for product realization per quality systems.
• Determine design and development stages, responsibilities, and authorities.
• Carry out research and benchmark products in the market.
• Establish processes and documentation and provide product-specific resources.
• Use a multidisciplinary approach for development, including FMEA design and review of control plans.
• Perform systematic reviews to ensure design meets requirements and propose actions.
• Review, verify and validate design changes and obtain approvals.
• Communicate with APQP team to ensure steps are completed on time.
• Conduct FMEA to identify and mitigate potential failures and effects.
• Drive improvement projects focusing on performance, cost reduction, and productivity.

Job Description for R&D Product Development Engineer

To plan and develop the process needed for product realization in consistent with requirement of other Quality Management System.

To determine the design and development stages, responsibility and authority during the design and development planning.

To carry out research and benchmarks products available in the market.

To address the need to establish processes and documents and to provide the resources specific to the product.

To use a multidisciplinary approach to prepare for product realization, including development/ finalization and monitoring of special characteristic, design and review of FMEAs, including actions to reduce potential risk and design and review of control plans.

To perform systematic review of design and development in accordance with planned arrangements to evaluate ability of results of design and development to meet requirement and to identify any problems and propose necessary actions.

To review, verify and validate the design and development changes as appropriate and obtain approval before implementation.

To communicate and cooperate with APQP team to assure that all required steps are completed on time.

To conduct FMEA to recognize and evaluate the potential failure of a product or process and the effects of that failure, there in identifying actions that could eliminate or reduce the chance of potential failure occurring.

To perform improvement projects that continuously focus upon performance improvement, control and reduction of cost and or productivity improvement.

To conduct statistical studies to analyze the variations present in the results of each type of measuring and test equipment system referenced in the control plan.

Job Requirement for R&D Product Development Engineer

Degree in Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry/Biochemistry or relevant field.

Can't sleep well if the analytical puzzle has yet to be resolved.

Lone traveler and a team player

Able to converse well in English and Bahasa.

Great laboratory skill, chemical handling, project management, ISO 9001, IATF 16949 knowledge.

At least 1 year experience in manufacturing industry.

Able to adapt to fast pace environment.

Preferably with more than 1 year of working experience in sealant & adhesive industry/environment.

Experience in product formulation, testing & product development is an added advantage.

Knowledge in chemical raw materials, compounding & formulation processes.

Familiar with laboratory equipment, testing methods & quality standards.

Strong analytical, problem-solving & troubleshooting skills.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and documentation skills.
