Job summary

Banyan Builders Sdn. Bhd. is hiring a Quantity Surveyor to join our Langkawi-based team. The role involves preparing quantities, cost estimates, tender docs, and budgets, plus cost control and contract administration for multiple projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related fields, with 2–3 years of experience, or fresh graduates with relevant qualifications. Proficiency in Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• Preferably 2–3 years of working experience in construction or quantity surveying.
• Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, costing, tendering, and contractual procedures.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Must be based in Langkawi or willing to relocate to Langkawi.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, tender documents, and project budgets.
• Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis from drawings and specs.
• Source quotations, evaluate pricing, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and evaluate progress claims, subcontractor payments, VO, and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow for cost efficiency.
• Review contracts, tender submissions, and contractual documentation.
• Coordinate with PMs, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Conduct site visits to verify progress, measurements, and completed works.
• Maintain accurate project costing records and regular cost reports for management.
• Assist in resolving contractual and commercial issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, tender documents, and project budgets.

Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis based on construction drawings and specifications.

Prepare and evaluate progress claims, subcontractor payments, variation orders (VO), and final accounts.

Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers on project requirements.

Conduct site visits to verify work progress, measurements, and completed works.

Maintain accurate project costing records and prepare regular cost reports for management.

Assist in resolving contractual and commercial issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Requirements
