Job summary

First Air Sales & Services Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a detail-oriented professional to assist in cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control across projects in Malaysia. The role involves coordinating with contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure project alignment with budgets and schedules.

The candidate should have 2–5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in M&E Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, with strong analytical and leadership skills to supervise

Responsibilities

• Estimate costs and assist in preparing detailed cost breakdowns and estimates for project quotations.
• Support budget creation and tender process management from submission to contract securing.
• Participate in cost control, project monitoring, and identifying potential overruns.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and authorities to ensure smooth project operations.
• Prepare and review contract documents to meet terms with customers and subcontractors.
• Assist in preparing variation orders and bills of quantities for clients.

Job description

• Estimate Costs: Assist in preparing detailed cost breakdowns and estimates for project quotations.
• Budget Management: Support in creating project budgets and managing the tender process from submission to contract securing.
• Cost Control & Project monitoring : Participate in evaluating, rationalizing, and negotiating project costs to ensure they remain within budget, Identifying and mitigating potential cost overruns
• Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and authorities to ensure smooth project operations.
• Contract Preparation: Prepare and review contract documents, ensuring all terms are met with customer & subcontractor.
• Billing Support: Assist in preparing variation orders and bills of quantities for clients.
• Claims Support: Support the compilation of insurance claims and other financial documentation.
• Site Evaluation: Conduct site visits and evaluations & measurement as required to monitor project progress.
• Procurement: Order with Procurement department for necessary equipment, parts, and supplies to support project needs.
• Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor to support project success.

Who are they looking for?

• Experience: At least 2 - 5 years of experience, ideally within the construction industry is preferred.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in M & E Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Leadership: Ability to supervise subordinates effectively to ensure timely performance of work.
• Excellent knowledge of M&E systems, construction methods, and cost management principles
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
• Able to carry out any other tasks requested by Management
