Job summary

myNews is seeking a Senior/Executive Quantity Surveyor to support cost estimation, quantity take-off, and contract administration for store development and renovation projects in Malaysia. The role requires site coordination under supervision of senior QS personnel and close collaboration with project teams.

You will perform take-offs, assist in preparing BQ for tenders, conduct site measurements, and help manage budgets.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in QS/construction.
• Experience in take-off, cost estimation, and project costing.
• Knowledge of tendering, variation orders, and claims.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-off and measurement from drawings, specs and BQ.
• Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities for tenders and contracts.
• Conduct site measurements to verify work against drawings and claims.
• Assist in preparing preliminary cost estimates and project budgets.
• Compile and maintain cost data, rates, and a price/cost library.
• Support monitoring of project expenditure against budgets and flag variances.
• Assist in preparing, reviewing, and organizing contract documents and tender packages.
• Support processing of variation orders, claims, and extensions of time.
• Assist in sourcing and comparing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits to verify project progress, quantities, and quality.
