Job summary

EPR (Kuching) Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Kuching, Sarawak. This full‑time role focuses on cost estimation, tendering, procurement, and contract administration across diverse projects.

You will prepare take‑offs, cost plans, and interim claims, while coordinating with engineering, procurement and finance to monitor cost performance and deliver final accounts. Strong Excel/QS software skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in cost estimation, tender preparation, quantity take-off, procurement, progress claims and variation orders.
• Familiar with contract administration and construction cost control.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, budgets, bills of quantities and tender documents.
• Assist in tender evaluation, bid comparison, cost analysis and recommendations for the appointment of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Obtain, evaluate and negotiate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers and service providers.
• Prepare and administer subcontract agreements, purchase orders and other commercial documentation.
• Measure completed work and prepare or evaluate interim progress claims.
• Assess subcontractors’ claims, variation orders, final accounts and payment recommendations.
• Identify, evaluate and maintain records of variations, additional works and potential claims.
• Monitor project expenditure, committed costs, cash flow and overall cost performance.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, cost forecasts and cost-to-complete assessments.
• Conduct regular site measurements and verify completed quantities against drawings and actual site conditions.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement and finance teams on commercial and contractual matters.
• Maintain proper records of quotations, instructions, claims, measurements, approvals and commercial correspondence.
• Assist with contractual notices, extension‑of‑time cost assessments, loss and expense claims and dispute documentation.
• Prepare and negotiate project final accounts.
• Carry out other commercial and contractual duties assigned by management.
