Job summary

PREMMEGA CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for an on-site role in Balakong, Malaysia. You will prepare and review BOQ, cost estimates, and tender documents, and monitor costs to ensure adherence to budgets and JKR standards.

You will measure and value on-site work, prepare progress claims, update cost reports, and coordinate with project teams. Strong MS Excel and costing software skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.

• Knowledge of government projects and JKR specifications is a plus.

Role Description The Quantity Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Balakong. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and tender documents for building and infrastructure projects. The Quantity Surveyor will monitor project costs, track variations, and support contractual and commercial matters to ensure adherence to budget and JKR standards. Daily tasks include measuring and valuing work done on site, preparing progress claims and final accounts, updating cost reports, and coordinating with project managers, engineers, and site teams. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, supporting procurement activities, and contributing to continuous improvement in cost efficiency and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in BOQ preparation and measurement, including quantity take-off and detailed cost breakdowns.
• Demonstrated ability in cost management and cost control to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets.
• Experience in cost planning and cost reporting, including regular updates to management and stakeholders.
• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of standard forms of contract and JKR specifications; experience with government projects is an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and quantity surveying / costing software; strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary site and office teams.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
