Responsibilities

• Handle site valuations, progress claims, payment certificates, variation orders, extensions of time and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and keep cost records and databases up to date.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and suppliers on claims and contract matters.
• Report contract and cost issues to your superior and coordinate weekly progress meetings.

About The Role
GEOQUEST SOLUTIONS MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the Project/Operation team, who support both pre-contract and post-contract activities, from cost estimation and tendering to contract administration, progress claims and final accounts, to make sure projects are delivered within budget.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare cost estimates, budgets, Bills of Quantities (BQ) and quantity take-offs.

Support tenders and get quotations from contractors and suppliers.

Appoint contractors and prepare Letters of Award and Work Orders.

Handle site valuations, progress claims, payment certificates, variation orders, extensions of time and final accounts.

Monitor project costs and keep cost records and databases up to date.

Liaise with clients, subcontractors and suppliers on claims and contract matters.

Report contract and cost issues to your superior and coordinate weekly progress meetings.

Ensure compliance with company and legal requirements, support the QS system, and perform other ad-hoc duties.

Job Requirement

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.

At least five (5) years of QS experience in the construction industry.

Experienced in cost estimation, tendering, contract administration, claims, variation orders and cost control.

Strong in quantity take-off and Microsoft Excel; costing software knowledge is an advantage.

Meticulous, analytical and able to work independently under pressure.
