About the role

GREAT WALL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Miri, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our project management operations. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive project quotations by reviewing project requirements. This role is essential to ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work in our office, collaborating closely with project managers, designer, and site supervisor to achieve our strategic project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations for renovation and construction projects based on drawings, site measurements, client requirements and project scope
• Calculate quantities of materials, labour, equipment and other project requirements.
• Ensure all required work scopes are included in the quotation and avoid missing items.
• Prepare detailed costing and pricing for each project item.
• Review and update quotation when there are changes to project scope or client requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve cost-related issues and provide cost-effective solutions
• Assist in claims management and dispute resolution related to project costs

What we're looking for

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Good understanding of construction materials, labour costs and construction methods.
• Able to read and understand construction drawings and layouts.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Strong communication abilities to work effectively with internal teams
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
