Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to handle cost estimation, BoQ preparation, and post-contract cost control in a dynamic Malaysian construction environment. You will prepare detailed budgets, source quotations, and manage payments with subcontractors across multiple projects.

The role requires 2–3 years in the industry, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office and QS software. Collaboration with a team and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
• Proficient in preparing BoQ, cost estimation, and contract administration.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates based on design drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Perform quantity take-offs and forecast costs for materials, labour, plant, and equipment.
• Prepare tender documents, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BoQ).
• Source, analyse, and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Monitor and control project costs to ensure expenditure remains within the approved budget.
• Measure and value completed work on-site and prepare Interim Payment Certificates (IPC) and progress claims.
• Assess, evaluate, and negotiate variations, change orders, and compensation events.
• Manage subcontractor payments and final account settlements.
• Negotiate and finalize project accounts with contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
