Job summary

Protext Construction (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a Tender & Commercial Manager to lead quantity take-off, cost estimates, tender pricing and subcontractor sourcing. You will review drawings, prepare pricing, and coordinate with clients and consultants.

You will monitor project costs, prepare interim payments, manage subcontractors, and track variations and EOTs, contributing to monthly reports and cash-flow projections as part of our expanding rock blasting, tunnelling and slope stabilization

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-off, Bills of Quantities (BQ) and cost estimates.
• Review tender drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Prepare tender pricing and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Analyse quotations and prepare commercial comparisons.
• Assist in tender submissions and clarification with clients/consultants.
• Monitor project costs, commitments and budget against actual expenditure.
• Prepare interim payment applications and progress valuations.
• Review and certify subcontractor progress claims.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and commercial correspondence.
• Monitor and evaluate Variation Orders (VO), additional works and omissions.
• Prepare Extension of Time (EOT) and contractual cost-related submissions where required.
• Prepare and negotiate claims with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Maintain proper records of site measurements, instructions, drawings and supporting documents.
• Prepare monthly commercial reports and cash-flow projections.
• Monitor project profitability and identify potential cost risks.
