Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Penang. You will prepare quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, and tender documents for diverse projects.

You'll analyse drawings and specifications, monitor costs, prepare variation orders and claims, and assist with progress payments and final accounts. Proficiency in Glodon software and MS Excel is desirable, with strong communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in quantity surveying or construction.
• Strong knowledge of take-off, cost estimation, tendering and variation claims.
• Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel.
• Able to read drawings and contracts; good negotiation and communication skills.
• Willing to travel to project sites.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our team.

Key responsibilities

Prepare quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, and tender documents.

Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine quantities and costs.

Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tenders and quotations.

Monitor project costs and provide regular cost reports.

Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate variation orders and claims.

Assist with progress payment applications, certification, and final accounts.

Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams on commercial and contractual matters.

Maintain proper documentation and records relating to project costs and contracts.

Use Glodon software for quantity take-off, measurement, estimating, and related QS activities where applicable.

Perform other QS-related duties as assigned.

About you

Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience in quantity surveying or the construction industry.

Good knowledge of quantity take-off, cost estimation, tendering, variation claims, and contract administration.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Able to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.

Good communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Willing to travel to project sites when required.

Knowledge and practical working experience with Glodon software or relevant Glodon QS applications will be an advantage.
