Job summary

Koon Seng Sdn Bhd is seeking a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) professional to develop and implement SH&E programs across the site. You will ensure compliance with Malaysian SH&E laws and coordinate training for new hires, contractors, and staff.

The role requires a Diploma in Safety & Health or related field with at least two years of experience. Effective communication in English and Bahasa Melayu is essential, and familiarity with OSHA and FMA regulations will be an advantage.

Qualifications

• Diploma in safety and health or related field, OSH coordinator course preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA, FMA and SH&E practices.
• Good written and oral communication in English and Bahasa Melayu.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update SH&E plans for the year.
• Advise management on compliance with SH&E laws and regulations.
• Conduct SH&E orientation and training for new employees.
• Coordinate incident investigations and report to DOSH via JKKP forms.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure SH&E compliance.
• Prepare monthly SH&E reports and conduct workplace inspections.

Job description

Develop safety, health and environment planning throughout the year.

Advice management in compliance to safety, health and environment law and regulation.

Perform safety, health and environment orientation and training to new employees.

Conduct safety, health and environment related training.

Conduct safety briefing to contractor before commencement of work.

Manage the permit application such as permit to work such as hot work, working at height and confined spaces to contractor.

Monitor onsite for every activities of external contractor to ensure compliance to safety, health and environment rules and regulation.

Develop and update HIRARC/JSA with collaboration with every department.

Liaise with DOSH/BOMBA/DOE/MOH and other related local authorities regarding to any schedule inspection and unscheduled inspection.

Liaise with external party for any monitoring, inspection, testing and assessment activities related safety, health and environment.

Liaise with external auditor for safety, health and environment related audit.

Coordinate and acts as secretary in safety and health committee meeting and environmental performance monitoring committee meeting.

Coordinate and conduct investigation of accident and incident, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning/occupational diseases and report to DOSH thru JKKP 6, JKKP 7 & JKKP 8.

Follow-up any safety, health and environment inspection report and develop action plan.

Prepare monthly safety and health report.

Conduct monthly workplace inspection and prepare inspection report.

Report any unsafe act/unsafe condition to SHE Officer and management and collaborate with all departmental head for take reasonably practical measures to eliminate any foreseeable risk to any person who is at workplace.

Ensure fire safety equipment system in good condition and well maintained.

Monitor worker's hostel in aspect of safety and health and maintain the record keeping.

Create and promote awareness, and implementing safety, health and environment programs.

Any other task that may be assigned by superior and top management by time to time.

REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must possess at least Diploma in safety and health or any related field or have attended OSH coordinator course. Have attended safety and health officer course may be advantage.

At least 2 years of relevant working experience is required.

Familiar with OSHA, FMA requirement & knowledgeable in safety, health and environment practices.

Preferably candidates able to coordinate with internal and external party.

Good written and oral communication skills (English and Bahasa Melayu).
