Job summary

Kitron Electronics Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks an experienced QA professional to lead and develop the QA team within electronics manufacturing. You will oversee IQA, IPQA, and OBA inspections, drive non-conformance actions, train staff, and maintain records to ensure compliant processes and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include auditing production processes, initiating corrective actions, and maintaining calibration and training documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance within electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of IQA, IPQA, OBA inspection processes and non-conformance control.
  • Experience with inspection equipment such as microscopes and vernier calipers.
  • Familiar with AOI program creation and modification.
  • Good knowledge of IPC standards and ability to apply them in practice.

  • Conduct daily shift briefing meetings for QA teams.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job description

1. QA Team Management

Manage and oversee IQA, IPQA, OBA inspection activities and non-conformance handling processes.

Plan and allocate QA/IQA manpower based on incoming material status and production output requirements.

Guide and coach QA personnel on inspection methods and quality standards.

Ensure all inspections are performed in accordance with established procedures and work instructions, with accurate completion of inspection records.

Conduct monthly and annual performance evaluations for QA/IQA personnel.

Supervise workplace discipline and ensure compliance with company policies.

Monitor employees' working hours, breaks, and maintain 5S standards within the QA area.

Report shift handover issues and quality abnormalities to the responsible engineers, follow up on corrective actions, and communicate updates to all QA personnel, including the night shift leader.

Conduct daily shift briefing meetings for QA teams at the beginning of each shift.

2. Process Audit

Perform regular production process audits covering Man, Machine, Material, Method, Environment, and Product characteristics.

Identify non-conformities, document audit findings, and coordinate with responsible departments to implement corrective actions.

3. New Employee Training

Organize practical training and competency assessments for new QA employees according to the approved Job Description.

Conduct practical training and competency evaluations for employees promoted to higher-level QA positions.

Maintain and update all training records and documentation.

4. Report Review & Documentation

Review QA reports daily before the end of each shift and investigate any abnormalities.

Review SFC system reports every morning to ensure data accuracy.

Collect, organize, scan, and archive all First Article Inspection (FAI) records on a weekly basis.

5. Production Area Lighting Measurement

Measure and record illumination levels at inspection workstations according to the lighting inspection procedure.

Ensure inspection areas meet the required lighting standards.

6. Soldering Iron Verification

Perform periodic soldering iron inspections and measurements in accordance with established procedures.

Follow up promptly on corrective actions for any soldering irons that do not meet specifications.

7. Microscope & Magnifier Maintenance

Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks for QA microscopes and magnifiers in accordance with maintenance procedures.

Ensure all inspection equipment remains in good working condition.

8. AOI Program Arrangement

Coordinate QA personnel to support HMD AOI program creation during the assigned shift.

Prioritize AOI programming activities based on engineering requirements and production priorities.

9. Other Duties

Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate superior.

Requirements
  • High School Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Good understanding of IQA, IPQA, OBA inspection processes and non-conformance control.
  • Experienced in using inspection and measurement equipment such as microscopes, magnifiers, vernier calipers, and 2.5D measuring instruments.
  • Good knowledge of IPC standards and ability to apply them in practical inspection activities.
  • Familiar with AOI program creation and modification.
  • Strong observation and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Good coaching and mentoring skills to develop QA team members.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, responsible, and able to work effectively under pressure.
