Yunyi Technology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is hiring a Quality Inspector (IPQC) to monitor in‑process manufacturing quality and ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements. You will participate in first-piece inspections, measurement activities, and defect prevention.
The role requires attention to detail, basic measurement skills, and coordination with Production and Quality teams. Overtime may be required to support ramp-ups and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Quality Inspector (IPQC) is responsible for monitoring and inspecting products, materials, and manufacturing processes during production to ensure compliance with approved specifications, work instructions, quality standards, and customer requirements. The role focuses on identifying quality issues at an early stage, preventing non-conforming products from proceeding to subsequent processes, and supporting continuous improvement activities.
In-Process Inspection & Quality Control
Perform in-process inspections according to inspection standards, control plans, work instructions and specifications.
Conduct first-piece/first-article inspection before mass production where required.
Perform routine patrol inspections at production lines and workstations.
Verify product dimensions, functionality, workmanship, and other specified quality characteristics.
Ensure production processes comply with established quality requirements and process parameters.
Measurement & Testing
Use appropriate inspection and measuring equipment such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, measuring fixtures, and other testing equipment.
Ensure measuring equipment used for inspection is within its calibration validity period.
Record inspection and measurement results accurately.
Non-Conformance Control
Identify, segregate, label, and report non-conforming products or materials.
Immediately inform the Quality Manager/Team Leader and relevant production personnel when abnormalities are detected.
Stop or hold affected products/processes according to established quality procedures when serious quality issues are identified.
Assist in tracing affected lots and controlling suspect materials or products.
Verify corrective actions and conduct re-inspection when required.
Quality Records & Documentation
Complete IPQC inspection reports, check sheets, defect records, and other quality documentation accurately and on time.
Maintain proper traceability of inspection results, lot numbers, production batches, and non-conforming products.
Ensure quality records are properly maintained according to document-control requirements.
Production Quality Support
Work closely with Production, Process, Equipment and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
Provide feedback to production operators regarding workmanship and quality requirements.
Monitor recurring defects and elevate abnormal defect trends.
Support root-cause investigation and corrective/preventive actions for quality problems.
Quality System & Continuous Improvement
Follow company quality procedures, SOPs, control plans, and applicable customer requirements.
Participate in quality improvement activities such as 5S, Kaizen, defect reduction, and process improvement.
Support internal/customer audits and preparation of relevant quality records when required.
Perform other quality-related duties assigned by the Quality Manager/Team Leader.
A minimum of SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Quality, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferably at least 2-4 years of experience in IPQC, QC inspection, or manufacturing quality control.
Candidates with relevant manufacturing quality experience may also be considered.
Able to read and understand specifications, SOPs, and inspection standards.
Basic knowledge of manufacturing quality control and defect identification.
Able to use common measuring and inspection equipment.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 is an advantage, particularly for automotive manufacturing.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and quality data recording.
Good attention to details and ability to identify abnormalities.
Able to communicate effectively with production operators, supervisors, and Quality personnel.
3 vacancies are available. 2 vacancies are required to run shift working schedule, while 1 vacancy is a normal shift working schedule. Required to work overtime whenever production is ramping up.
