Ichia Technologies Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Quality Engineer to overseeing Customer Quality Engineering (CQE), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) across manufacturing.
You will monitor performance, investigate issues, and drive CAPA actions with cross-functional teams. The role requires leading investigations, coordinating with Production, Engineering, NPI, R&D, and others, and ensuring adherence to customer and internal quality standards.
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product and process quality throughout the manufacturing process, with a specific focus on Customer Quality Engineering (CQE), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC). The role involves monitoring quality performance, investigating quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and ensuring compliance with customer and company quality requirements.
Serve as the key quality contact for customers regarding product quality issues and requirements.
Manage customer complaints, quality concerns, and quality-related inquiries.
Lead investigation and root cause analysis for customer complaints and quality issues.
Prepare and submit 8D, CAPA, and corrective action reports to customers within the required timeline.
Coordinate with Production, Engineering, NPI, R&D, and other departments to resolve customer quality issues.
Monitor customer quality performance, including customer complaints, PPM, DPPM, and return rates.
Follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure effectiveness and prevent recurrence.
Support customer audits, quality meetings, and customer visits when required.
Review and communicate customer quality requirements to relevant internal departments.
Monitor and control product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Conduct regular process inspections and ensure compliance with work instructions, control plans, and quality standards.
Monitor critical process parameters and identify potential quality risks.
Work closely with Production and Process Engineering teams to resolve process-related quality issues.
Investigate defects and perform root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and Pareto Analysis.
Establish and maintain quality control plans, inspection standards, and process monitoring procedures.
Monitor process capability and statistical trends using SPC where applicable.
Support implementation of process improvements and defect reduction initiatives.
Ensure proper handling and disposition of non-conforming products.
Conduct first-piece, in-process, and process verification inspections where required.
Ensure finished products meet customer specifications and quality requirements before shipment.
Establish and maintain outgoing inspection standards and procedures.
Perform final product inspections based on approved specifications, drawings, inspection standards, and sampling plans.
Verify product appearance, dimensions, functionality, labeling, packaging, and documentation where applicable.
Review OQC inspection results and ensure non-conforming products are properly identified and controlled.
Monitor outgoing quality performance and analyze defect trends.
Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, and relevant departments to resolve shipment quality issues.
Ensure only conforming products are released for shipment.
Maintain accurate OQC inspection records and quality documentation.
Lead and participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
Apply quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and CAPA.
Analyze quality data and identify recurring defects, trends, and improvement opportunities.
Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor the effectiveness of implemented actions and verify closure.
Drive defect reduction, yield improvement, and customer quality improvement projects.
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with company quality procedures and relevant standards.
Maintain quality records, inspection reports, corrective action reports, and other required documentation.
Support internal, customer, and third‑party quality audits.
Ensure proper control and traceability of quality-related documents and records.
Support implementation and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
Strong knowledge of CQE, IPQC, and OQC processes.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control methods.
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Proficient in quality tools including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and CAPA.
Good knowledge of inspection methods, sampling plans, and quality standards.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, NPI, R&D, Warehouse, and customers.
Good documentation and reporting skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in Mandarin/Chinese is preferred.
