Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Quality Engineer (Non-R&D) 2 in Batu Kawan, Penang, Malaysia. You will join the Quality Department to maintain and improve world-class standards, support quality initiatives, analyze process performance, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and business operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree.
• 2–3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and in quality-related functions.
• Hands-on experience in process audits, product audits, and production line audits.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis, with working knowledge of Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-based decisions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment and familiarity with cleanroom protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve internal quality issues by ensuring timely containment, root cause identification, and closure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to conduct comprehensive root-cause investigations and drive the implementation of effective CAPA.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce, eliminate, and prevent recurring quality issues across processes and products.
• Champion proactive quality measures, process standardization efforts, and cross‑product learning to strengthen overall organizational capability.
• Compile, analyze, and present quality performance metrics during global and site-level review forums.
• Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, systemic gaps, and improvement opportunities across manufacturing processes.
• Ensure manufacturing processes and products meet internal specifications, customer expectations, and regulatory quality requirements.
