Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 2 for Batu Kawan, Malaysia. You will oversee planning, development and maintenance of manufacturing methods, solving technical, quality and production challenges, and optimizing costs and cycle times in high-volume environments.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree with 2+ years of experience and knowledge of DFMA, CAD, PLM, and BOM management. This is an on-site position with Lam promoting hybrid options and collaboration across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience, or advanced degree with no prior professional experience.
• Solid troubleshooting capabilities in electro/mechanical assemblies.
• Proficient in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and structured problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot new or existing product problems, involving designs, materials, or processes.
• Design, develop, and implement safe and cost-effective complex equipment and methods for all manufacturing phases.
• Define process and methods for high volume manufacturing including OMS, routing, and sequencing.
• Perform virtual build and create sequence of assembly.
• Perform root cause investigations and recommend corrective actions for operational problems.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes to reduce costs and cycle time.
• Review and develop designs to improve manufacturability and assembly.
• Coordinate new product builds in pilot production with manufacturing and product engineers.
• Create and release engineering drawings and BOMs using ECM processes.
• Develop handoff packages to enable transition to high-volume manufacturing.
