Job summary

TF AMD Microelectronics (Penang) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to act as the main quality contact for customers at the Penang site. You will understand and deploy customer quality requirements and manage complaints using 8D, 5 Why, and CAPA techniques.

You will support inquiries, FA requests, and quality concerns, lead RMA re-screening, and drive corrective actions. Strong data skills (Excel/Power BI) and ISO/IATF awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3–6 years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience in CQE or related quality expertise (2–4 years).
• Fresh graduates may apply.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main quality contact and trusted interface for customers.
• Understand and deploy customer quality requirements across the Penang site.
• Manage customer complaints and lead 8D, 5 Why, and CAPA methodologies.

• Deliver weekly/monthly quality reports and CAR summaries.

• Maintain engagement with customers on quality issues and changes.
• Represent the customer within the organization and drive improvements.
• Capture and execute customer feedback and VOC initiatives.

Job description

Act as the main quality contact and trusted interface for customers.

Understand and deploy customer quality requirements across the Penang site.

Manage customer complaints and lead effective problem resolution using 8D, 5 Why, and CAPA methodologies.

Support customer inquiries, failure analysis (FA) requests, and quality-related concerns.

Lead internal re-screening activities for customer RMA materials.

Benchmark customer complaint trends with global counterparts and drive corrective and preventive actions.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager

Deliver timely customer quality reports, including Weekly/ Monthly Quality Reports, QIP updates, and CAR summaries.

Provide on-site customer support for issue verification and re-screening activities.

Lead customer quality audits and ensure effective audit reporting and follow-up actions.

Maintain close engagement with customers regarding quality issues, changes, and new requirements.

Represent the customer within the organization by monitoring factory quality performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure customer feedback, expectations, and requirements are accurately captured and effectively executed.

Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with customer quality teams.

Drive internal quality improvements based on customer feedback and the Voice of the Customer (VOC).

Job Qualifications:Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or a related field.

Language:

Fluent in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage to support communication with Chinese-speaking customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Experience:

3–6 years of relevant working experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Customer Quality Engineering (CQE) or related Quality Expertise

Core Tools & Skills Requirement:

Proficient in Quality 7 Tools, 8D Problem Solving, 5 Why Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis.

Strong knowledge of FMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, and Process Capability Studies.

Experience in customer complaint management, CAPA implementation, and quality auditing.

Skilled in data analysis and reporting using Excel, Power BI, or equivalent tools.

Familiar with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific quality requirements.

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and customer satisfaction.

Ability to lead cross-functional teams and effectively manage customer escalations and quality concerns.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong collaboration within teams.

Good negotiation and conflict-resolution skills when handling customer quality issues.

Customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage customer concerns professionally and effectively.
