Job summary

Bossard (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a proactive Quality Engineer in Penang to lead product quality concerns and drive timely resolutions. You will manage customer complaints, coordinate investigations, and support continuous improvement efforts across departments.

The role requires a degree or advanced diploma and 2–3 years in quality or engineering within mechanical or fastening hardware. Mandarin and CAD tools are advantageous for cross-border collaboration and technical support.

Qualifications

• Degree or Advanced Diploma required.
• 2–3 years of quality/engineering experience in the mechanical/fastening hardware industry preferred.
• Mandarin proficiency helpful for coordinating with China-based vendors.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point for product quality complaints and feedback.
• Investigate and document customer complaints, coordinating with teams to ensure products meet requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and define corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Provide timely updates and resolutions to internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure processes meet customer expectations.
• Involve in audits/visits for customers and suppliers and provide technical support.
• Oversee and approve First Article inspection procedures and supervise Quality Inspectors.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-orientedQuality Engineer to lead and manage product quality concerns. This role is responsible for handling customer complaints, coordinating investigations, and ensuring timely and effective resolutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to support continuous improvement and uphold our commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point product quality complaints and feedback
• Investigate and document customer complaints in coordination for ensuring that products meet customer and regulatory requirements by managing quality issues related to both customers and suppliers
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and define corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
• Provide timely updates and resolutions to internal and external customers
• Work closely with the cross department to ensure internal processes meet customer expectations and process improvement.
• Involved in customer and supplier audits/ visits and provide Technical support to customer and internal team.
• Maintain detailed records and reports of customer interactions and resolutions
• To oversee and approve First Article inspection procedures prior to sample submission.
• Oversee Quality Inspectors to ensure smooth operation of all quality related areas
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF16949, and other industry standards.
• Support additional quality-related projects and tasks as assigned.

III. Requirements

A. Education and Experience

Candidate must possess at least a Degree or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma.

At least 2-3 years of working experience in supporting quality or engineering roles or related experiences in the mechanical or fastening hardware Industry.

B. Skills

• Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred to facilitate more effective communication with China-based vendors.
• Proficiency in Solidworks or Autocad
• Experience in mechanical or fastening hardware with related fastening machine/tool troubleshooting would be an advantage.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments. Strong in Teamwork.
• Experience working with customers and internal teams to address technical and quality issues is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
