Job summary

THM Plastic Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform quality checks on materials, WIP and finished goods on the production floor in Penang. You will record inspection results, identify defects, and collaborate with production to resolve quality issues while maintaining ISO and quality documentation.

The ideal candidate holds SPM/Certificate/Diploma or equivalent, with 1–2 years’ experience in QC or manufacturing, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality control within manufacturing or production environments.
• Ability to read and complete QC records and documentation.
• Basic computation and measurement skills for QC checks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quality inspection on raw materials, work-in-progress and finished products.
• Check product quality according to company specifications and customer requirements.
• Conduct routine quality checks during the production process.
• Identify and report defects or quality issues to the Production Supervisor/Manager.
• Record inspection results and maintain QC records and documentation.
• Ensure rejected or non-conforming products are properly identified and segregated.
• Work with Production team to resolve quality issues and reduce defects.
• Monitor product appearance, dimensions, weight, printing and other quality specs.
• Ensure production and quality procedures are followed.
• Assist in handling customer quality complaints and investigations when required.
• Support ISO, audit and other quality-related activities.
• Perform other duties related to production and quality control as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma or equivalent.


• Preferably with 1–2 years of working experience in Quality Control, manufacturing or production environment.


• Experience in plastic manufacturing / packaging industry will be an advantage.


• Able to perform basic measurements and quality inspections.


• Able to read and complete basic QC records and documentation.


• Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Excel / Word).


• Responsible, attentive to details and willing to work on the production floor.


• Able to communicate and work well with Production team members.


• Candidates with relevant working experience will be given priority.


• May be required to perform inspection directly at production machines and production areas.


• Must be comfortable working closely with Production operators and supervisors.
