The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials, production processes, packaging operations, and finished products comply with customer specifications, GMP requirements, internal SOPs, and regulatory standards. The role supports product quality, minimizes defects, and ensures only conforming products are released for delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Incoming Material Inspection
- Inspect all incoming packaging materials and raw materials according to approved specifications.
- Verify supplier COA (Certificate of Analysis), labels, quantity, and physical condition.
- Report any discrepancies or damages immediately.
- Maintain incoming inspection records.
In-Process Quality Inspection
- Verify production follows approved Batch Production Record (BPR).
- Ensure operators comply with GMP requirements.
- Verify:
- Correct product
- Correct packaging materials
- Correct artwork/version
- Correct coding & expiry dates
- Product appearance
- Packaging integrity
- Perform line clearance before production starts.
Finished Goods Inspection
- Inspect finished products according to sampling plans.
- Check:
- Product count
- Seal integrity
- Carton condition
- Pallet configuration
- Release products only after QA approval where applicable.
Documentation
- Complete inspection reports accurately.
- Record inspection findings in BPR.
- File inspection records according to document control procedures.
- Ensure traceability of all inspected batches.
GMP & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- GMP
- GDP (where applicable)
- SOPs
- Customer requirements
- Company Quality System
- Monitor housekeeping and hygiene.
- Verify production staff follow gowning procedures.
- Ensure production area meets cleanliness standards.
Authority
- Stop production if critical quality issues are detected.
- Reject incoming materials that do not meet specifications.
- Reject finished goods that fail inspection.
- Hold products pending QA disposition.
- Escalate critical quality concerns to QA Manager.
