Job summary

PPG Industries is seeking a QC Chemist in Malaysia to determine batch quality and uphold EHS and 5S standards. You will report to the QC Manager and support safety, quality and customer requirements.

Responsibilities include coordinating QA activities, investigating customer complaints, supporting new product development, and leading over the handover of new products. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, with a degree in Chemistry or related fields.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge in paint or chemicals.
• Manual spray painting skill is an added advantage.
• Preventive maintenance monitoring and finished goods product footprint implementation.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and make decisions on non-conformance products.

Responsibilities

• Support QC manager to ensure safety, quality and customer requirements are followed.
• Ensure all departmental procedures are followed and update processes when required.
• Coordinate and support new product development activity related to product quality.
• Investigate with the team on customer complaints, SSPL and returns.
• Collaborate to resolve product quality issues with managers, coworkers and technical staff.
• Work with technical for formula optimization and process improvement.
• Lead new product supervision and handover processes.
• Raise internal CAIR for abnormalities observed.
• Provide weekly or monthly quality-related reporting.
• Track First Time Quality (FTQ) and perform RCA on low FTQ test methods.
• Monitor in-process rejection by defect type.
• Improve productivity by eliminating non-value added tests.
• Release product quality at nominal test result ranges.
• Maintain 5S and EHS compliance in the work area.
