Job summary

PPG is seeking a Quality Control Intern to support the Quality Control team by performing basic lab testing, reviewing product documentation, and aiding data review to ensure quality standards. You will assist with routine lab testing on production batches, organize audit documents, review quality records, and collaborate with production and process teams to drive continuous improvement.

This internship offers exposure to safety procedures and documentation workflows in a busy manufacturing

Qualifications

• Minimum internship duration of 6 months.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, testing procedures, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist routine laboratory testing of production batches to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Perform daily administrative tasks including file organizing, sampling, updating test results, WIP report and CoA preparation.
• Support customer complaint handling.
• Support audit activities including documentation, reviewing compliance gaps, and preparing reports.
• Assist QC Chemist with investigation of internal non-conformance, sampling, root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
• Maintain laboratory housekeeping (5S), chemical handling, calibration and safety compliance.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and cost-saving projects.
• Collaborate with production, process engineering, maintenance and technical teams on quality issues.

The role also includes supporting compliance activities such as organizing audit documents and helping review quality records, as QC intern tasks commonly involve documentation analysis and audit support.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist on routine laboratory testing of production batches to ensure conformance with specifications
• Perform daily administrative task including file organizing, sampling, updating test results, work-in-progress report and CoA preparation.
• Support on customer complaint handling
• Support on audit including documentation, reviewing compliance gaps, and preparing reports.
• Assist QC Chemist on investigation of internal non-conformance, including sampling, root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions implementation.
• Help to maintain laboratory's housekeeping (5S), chemical handling, calibration and ensure safety and compliance.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and cost-saving project
• Involve in inter-departmental collaboration (production, process engineering, maintenance, technical) when handling quality related issue.
